A Sneak Peek!
It's been a long while since my last post, but I wanted to have something sweet to share before posting again- and that my friends, I have now!
We are about halfway through the production, and we're still on scedule. All the backgrounds have been completed and compositing has started, so this last monday we saw the first 20 second test on the Silver Screen, and now, here's your chance to have a peek at the finished look of the film. Just follow the link and have a bit of patience if you're on a slow connection, it's a fairly large file, but hopefully worth the wait:

Props to the animaters and Christen Bach, compositor extraordinair!

KRA-KA-BOOOOM!!!!
We have had an explosive start of production! The team of animators hit the ground running, and within a matter of days, scenes started turning in! We have actually produced 45 seconds of crisp, highquality animation allready!
I love those guys!
And it's not just their speed, each and every animator have brought something to the characters and added nuances to the scenes!
I am such a happy camper! As soon as i figure out how to, I will post some scenes! Keep your eyes peeled!

At The End of PreProduction!
It's been a while since the last update, as things have been busy on our vitual set. Preproduction will only run for one more week, but I'm happy to annouce that things are on track.
This film is gonna kick all kinds of @$$ !
The turnarounds from KunztKoppel are nearly done (we will post them as soon as we have them all returned from touchup)
The dialogue have been recorded and went beyond our wildest expectations- I mean, this is easily that part of film that I've been most psycked about so far. The actors have laid down some awesome performances for the animators to work from.
And speaking of the actors, Let me just introduce the cast:
Our leading role is played by Kasper Leisner:
The Mother is played by non other than Vigga Bro:
The selfserving Priest is played by Allan Klie:And The Sheriff is played by speaker extraordinaire, Lars Junker Thiasgaard:
Andreas Monti caught the dialogue sessions on tape, and continues the turn out amazing art. He's working on the Design-Bible as I post this, and I just want to showcase these awesome drawings he did, inspires by the dialogue-recordings:

Ruff' Boards!
tirsdag den 18. september 2007
Yay!
So, the team of animators has been confirmed! Come October we will be joined by Emil Sellström, Israel Hernandez, Marie-Louise H. Jensen and Rebecca Sørensen. We all look forward to starting work with them and really get the film on tracks!
In other news: Monty and I have started storyboarding the film, and are pleased to find that the stylistic choices we made in the pre-boarding phase are really paying off in the actual boards. They look beautiful and promising!
We'll post some examples in a few days!

In development
Here's a first look at some of our design-ideas. We're still developing the style of the film, but we're fairly certain that we'll go for a simple, expressive look, that will allow a wide range of approaches for diffrent scenes in the film. The backgrounds will have colour, but we'd like to keep the characters black and white. All these drawings are of cource done by the talented Andreas Monty Freddie. We'll post more soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

First Step...
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! This blog will feature updates and news from the production of "BIG MAN", an animated graduation film from The Danish Film School.
The film is about a freak of a man. Big as a tree, strong as an ox, but with the mind of a child. He has grown up, and lived his entire life on the outskirts of a small mexican village, alone with his tiny mom. When she dies, BIG MAN has to go to town for the first time in his life, in order to give his mom a propper burial. But his encounter with the villagers doesn't play out well, and BIG MAN has to face down both a selfserverving priest, a weakwilled sheriff and a posse of triggerhappy deputies before he can hope to put his mother in the ground.
The film is directed by Cav Bøgelund, co-directed and designed by Andreas Monty Freddie, produced by Cladia Siesbye. With a screenplay by Tobias Lindholm, sound-design by Frank Mølgaard and animation by the talented students from The Animation Workshop in Viborg.
